Looking Back At Year 2007

In this article we will take a look back at the year that just passed by our noses. 2007 was indeed a fabulous year for the mobile phone world, and so it was for our favourite manufacturer – Sony Ericsson.

S500 review by GSMArena

GSMArena.com published their Sony Ericsson S500 review yesterday. It looks like they’ve reviewed the black edition, which I find the prettiest. Generally them seem to be liking the phone as a mid-end solution, but conclude that there are better alternatives in the same price range – i.e. the W580, which has some added features and more memory for about the same price. Here’s the full conclusion for you guys.

Sony Ericsson S500 is a mid-range slider of slim design and daring exterior, which offers very standard, not to say unoriginal, functionality. Available for around 225 Euro, the S500 is easily challenged by a number of Sony Ericsson models offering respectable functions in this price range. Which way you will go is just up to you.

The S500 will easily appeal to the senses, but the Walkman W580 could well be the more reasonable option. FM radio, fitness application, superior headset, and a 512-MB memory card are enough features to make the Walkman phone worth the additional investment.

You’ll find the review right here – and don’t forget that you can read my review of S500 here 🙂

My humble Sony Ericsson collection of phones

Well, I just thought I’d share a picture with you guys of my humble Sony Ericsson phone collection. So far I’ve got 10 Sony Ericsson phones (more, if you count the other brands!). These are K700, K800, P990, S500, T68i, T230, T610, W800, W810 & W880. Soon to come is the K850! Also, I’d like to announce a new page at The Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog – the “Sony Ericsson Me!” page (still a little work to do, though), where both I and you guys can share your thoughts in general on Sony Ericsson phones and your own phones. Feel free to link to pictures as well 🙂 It can be found here. Well, anyways, here is the picture 🙂

Lots of hot pictures from Planete-Nokia

Although it’s called Planete-Nokia, SE-employee “Virgile”, uses the forum to post all his pictures of the new and hot Sony Ericsson phones. In this post I’m covering all the latest posted pictures by “virgile”. Read on for the pictures 🙂

S500 back – now with a fixed keypad

s500_keypad.jpgIf you’ve read this blog from the start or read my other blog called MobileXpert, then you would know that my mom’s S500 was sent to a repairer because the keypad was broken. Well she got it back about 5 days ago, and the keypad has now been fixed. HOWEVER, it took more than five weeks to fix it! That’s simply not acceptable in my opinion.

Anyway, it’s back and I’ll upload some pictures for the gallery soon!

S500 Ice Purple

Sony Ericsson has launched the ‘Ice Purple’ variant of S500… and it’s slick!!

S500 keypad cracked

I guess most of you have heard about the keypad problems the first shippings of the S500 had. Sony Ericsson stated that it was some sort of chemical reaction on the black/green version that made the keypad crack. However some yellow ones also had this problem, and it can’t be due to the green paint on these! So, as you most likely know, I recently got a S500 for my mom and generally she’s pretty pleased with it. But, but, but… A couple of days ago I spotted the keypad problem on this one, too! I couldn’t believe it, but it was definitely cracking. So yesterday we went to a shop and had it sent to some repairer to fix it (and while we were at it, I told them to fix the loose slider, too! 😉 ). It’ll be back in a few weeks and in the meantime she’s using my old K800.

For those of you who are still waiting for the review of S500, it’ll come online soon! But at the moment I’ve got a lot of other things that are more important 😦
